Smart devices make listening to music so easy these days. We love to have music on often here and I find kids movie soundtracks to be a great way to mix up songs and keep everyone happy. I had a hard time narrowing this list down to ten. Let us know in the comments what else you’d include!<\/p>\n

Moana<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I had no idea that Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote as much of Moana\u2019s soundtrack<\/a> as he did until after we played it on our smart device! This movie was adorable (one of my most recent favorites) and I never complain when my kids ask to hear the soundtrack. We all giggle when we hear them sing about the coconuts (\u201cWhere You Are\u201d). I feel cool when I can spit out The Rock<\/span> Dwayne Johnson\u2019s rap in \u201cYou\u2019re Welcome.\u201d \u201cHow Far I\u2019ll Go,\u201d the reprise in particular is straight-up inspiring, and I\u2019ll cry if I\u2019m in the right mood. When it comes to soundtracks, I could listen to this one over and over again.<\/p>\n

The Princess and the Frog<\/h2>\n

The New Orleans jazz flair on this soundtrack<\/a>, wow! Randy Newman always delivers. Admittedly, we still have not seen this movie in my house, but we listen to the soundtrack often. There are so many fun pieces on this one. When I\u2019m in a singing mood, \u201cAlmost There\u201d is almost always a top choice. My kids have twirled many a twirl while dancing to \u201cDown in New Orleans.\u201d \u00a0Love love LOVE this one!<\/p>\n

The Little Mermaid<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This Alan Menken\u00a0soundtrack<\/a>\u00a0is a classic from my childhood. I can distinctly remember pushing myself up on the couch to sing \u201cPart of Your World\u201d just like Ariel did on her rock. \u201cPoor Unfortunate Souls\u201d is one I truly appreciate in my old years with its uplifting but still dark tones. \u201cUnder The Sea\u201d is my go-to when approaching a marimba. (Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star does an adorable lullaby cover!) Classic 90s (OK, almost 90s) Disney with some classic tunes.<\/p>\n

Aladdin<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Speaking of Classic 90s Disney, let\u2019s talk about Menken\u2019s next gem<\/a> with Aladdin. It starts strong with \u201cArabian Nights\u201d before (literally) jumping into \u201cOne Jump Ahead.\u201d Robin Williams cracked me up with the Joan Rivers segment in \u201cPrice Ali.\u201d I still get pumped up listening to \u201cFriend Like Me.\u201d And was it me, or was \u201cA Whole New World\u201d the best love song of the 90s? I love this soundtrack so much that I just can\u2019t find it in me to listen to the new one.<\/p>\n

Mary Poppins<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Mary Poppins<\/em> is an absolute classic movie, and the music<\/a> is held in the same regard. I spent a great deal of childhood singing \u201cSupercalifragilisticexpialidocious\u201d (such an accomplishment). I would snap and clean my room while singing \u201cSpoonful of Sugar,\u201d waiting for those toys to jump right into the box. \u201cSister Suffragette\u201d was a new song as an adult! \u201cStay Awake\u201d was a lullaby in this household. \u201cChim Chim Cher-ee,\u201d \u201cLet\u2019s Go Fly a Kite,\u201d this one is treasure after treasure.<\/p>\n

Tarzan<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Phil Collins blew us away here. \u201cTrashing the Camp\u201d picks me up immediately. Phil Collins does a great job of marrying the Men at Work sound with heartfelt classics with \u201cTwo Worlds, One Family\u201d and \u201cYou\u2019ll Be In My Heart.\u201d You can definitely put this soundtrack<\/a> on repeat without ever having seen the movie.<\/p>\n

Annie<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Annie is another classic movie and another classic soundtrack<\/a>. It only took one listen for us all to belt out \u201cTomorrow!\u201d We were seemingly programmed to sing \u201cHard Knock Life\u201d while grumpily cleaning our rooms. This one always leaves me singing and reminds me that I\u2019m \u201cNever Fully Dressed Without a Smile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Curious George<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This soundtrack<\/a> is nothing short of joy. I smile every time I hear \u201cUpside Down.\u201d \u201cWe\u2019re Going to be Friends\u201d is perfect for new school-year jitters. I l love The Schoolhouse Rock nod in \u201cThe 3 Rs.\u201d \u00a0The music on this soundtrack is so sweet and great to put on at any time of the day.<\/p>\n

The Lion King<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Disney legend Tim Rice and pop legend Elton John absolutely nailed it with The Lion King<\/a>. Don\u2019t think so? Try to hold up a stuffed animal without singing “Circle of Life.”\u00a0 If you didn\u2019t think that \u201cA Whole New World\u201d was the love song of the 90s, then you probably thought \u201cCan You Feel the Love Tonight\u201d was. \u201cHakuna Matata\u201d was so great that they even threw it in to Toy Story!<\/p>\n

Shrek<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit that I am having difficulty choosing between 1, 2, and 3. Looking for some great throwbacks? They\u2019ve got you covered with \u201cBad Reputation,\u201d \u201cChanges,\u201d \u201cImmigrant Song,\u201d or \u201cDo You Remmeber Rock n Roll Radio?\u201d (I can keep going here\u2026) \u00a0Prefer an older piece with a twist? Check out \u201cI\u2019m a Believer.\u201d Prefer something brand new? \u201cAccidently in Love.\u201d Feel like dancing? \u201cFunkytown.\u201d I know choosing a trio of movies\/soundtracks<\/a> is a bit of a cop-out, but I\u2019ll make the exception for Shrek!<\/p>\n
